PayPal’s New Refund Policy

Anyone selling goods via PayPal, PayPal charges 2.99% commission on the sale, which will no longer be returned when giving a full or partial refund. The flat fee is set at $ 0.49, and has never been subject to refunds. Often we get people who check out regardless of what is written in the product description or what is on the shipping page telling them not to do so before contacting us first.

‘Do Not Check Out Before Contacting Us’ has been our policy from day one. Often razors are in poor condition, needing parts or not repairable, we may not have replacement parts or the customer may not be willing to spend repairing/replacing parts or we may be unwilling to work on a given razor. This also goes for razors approved to send in, we do our best to inquire about the condition of each razor but we can’t always see issues from photos or issues with internal parts, often customers are unaware or don’t let us know this is why it’s important not to check out. In the past it was possible to refund when someone checked out but times have changed.

With that said we are not responsible, for fees incurred when customers disregard our policy.

WHAT CONDITION SHOULD MY RAZOR BE IN

Most superficial scratches or marks on the razor can be removed or at least minimized with careful re-surfacing. Deep scratches, dings, dent and pits can't be totally removed and will likely be seen on a coated razor, the same would apply to plating.

Every effort is made to ensure that your razor looks great before coating but we are limited by the pre-existing condition of the razor that we receive from you. We make every effort to adjust the mechanics of each razor to the best of the razors ability. Realistic expectations, the overall fit and condition of your razor will reflect on the finished product, all razors must be in 'good' user grade condition. Please send photos of the razor you are inquiring about along with any question.

All razors will be inspected upon receiving. From time-to-time razors come in with internal damage, corrosion and other issues. Service prices on this site are pending final disassembly and inspection, if any issues are noticed the customer will be contacted.

Note at this time we do not work on Rockets, Micromatic, Featherweight or Clog Pruf razors.

HOW DO I SUBMIT MY RAZOR

First we need to know the type and condition of each razor you will be submitting they must meet the criteria for the coating process, some razor are not good candidates for the process due to type and or condition. Once we know that your razor is in good user grade condition and a suitable  candidate, shipping information and a color chart will be emailed.

Once we’ve received the razor we will contact you and go over the colors and color layout. Payment is not required at time of submitting the razor, but is due upon completion in full. When the razor is finished and ready to ship back, an email confirmation will be sent directing you to check out via the site or send an invoice for international customers, custom work, repair work and or parts replaced.

WHAT IS THE TURNAROUND TIME

All work is completed in the order it is received, typically the time is 6-8 days, before your razor will go into the revamp process.

WHAT COATING DO YOU USE

We use Gunkote, Gunkote is a thermal cure thin film coating that is corrosion, impact, scratch and chemical resistant. Routine cleaning and common sense 'care' will go a long way in maintaining the razors finish.

PAYMENT WE ACCEPT

We accept PayPal only. You must have a confirmed PayPal address. We can only ship to address on the PayPal Transaction Details Page only, no exceptions.

BLADE GAP

Gillette adjustable razors are set close as possible to factory settings. These setting are taken from NOS razors, Gillette archived information, research and prominent members of the restoration community. Settings reflect the most accurate information available.

CARE AND CLEANING YOUR NEWLY COATED RAZOR

The coating is impact, scratch, corrosion and chemical resistant. We highly recommend cleaning  your newly coated razor with dish soap, (such as Dawn or Joy) directly applied on a soft nylon toothbrush and warm water. Towel dry after cleaning and every use. You can ‘sanitizes’ your razor with Isopropyl Alcohol, simply put some in a spray bottle and apply, this will also help in the drying process.

We do not recommend cleaning your coated razor with chemicals or in a ultrasonic cleaner, sonic waves could weaken or damage the bond. We strongly recommend removing the blade, rinsing razor parts and towel dry after each use. Routine cleaning and common sense 'care' will go a long way in maintaining the razors finish.
